Dr. Edward Becker M.D.

Dr. Edward BeckerEdward R. Becker, M.D., has been a respected member of Palm Beach County's medical community for over 25 years.

As a charter member of the medical staff at both Palms West Hospital and Wellington Regional Medical Center , he is one of the specialists who have helped set the standard for excellence for physicians and surgeons in our area. He has served as Chief of Surgery at Palms West Hospital for 6 years and was later appointed to the Board of Trustees. He is the current Vice-Chief of Surgery at Wellington Regional Hospital.

Dr. Becker is a graduate of the University of Florida's Urologic Residency program at Jacksonville and has been a part of medical missions all over the world.

Dr. Becker practices all aspects of urology including male sexual dysfunction, prostate disorders, bladder disease and control, renal disease and abnormalities, malignancies and kidney stone disease.

Dr. Becker is part of a small, select group of urologists in the country who are currently offering mildly invasive treatments for prostate cancer, including HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) and DaVinci Robotics.  Urinary incontinence is another area of special interest for Dr. Becker and he is proud to offer his patients the latest and most modern treatments available, including the InterStim Neurostimulator and treatment for pelvic floor dysfunction. Dr. Becker is committed to providing the latest in innovative treatments to the community that he loves and supports.

Dr. Becker is the founding partner of Palm Beach Urology Associates, and an avid supporter of many local charities including the Boys & Girls Club of Wellington and New Hope Charities.

Dr. Rafael Lopez, M.D.

Dr. Rafael LopezDr. Rafael Lopez earned his medical degree at Columbia University's college of physicians and surgeons in New York City in 1983.  After attending Columbia University for his undergraduate studies, he completed his general surgical and urological surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania . He Joined Palm Beach Urology Associates in 1990 and brings over 20 years of experience to the practice.  He practices general urology with an emphasis on a minimally invasive solution to urological problems.

Dr. Lopez practices all aspect of urology.  The treatment of prostate and bladder disorders including cancer, kidney stone disease, vasectomy reversals, erectile dysfunction and incontinence with emphasis on minimally invasive solutions to urological problems. In the past Dr. Lopez has served on the board of the Crestwood Performing Arts league in addition to coaching several local youth baseball and hockey teams.

Dr. Damian Portela, M.D.

Dr. Damian PortelaDr. Damian Portela III is a board certified urologist who has been in practice for 13 years.  He begun training at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and completed his training at Saint Vincent's Hospital Manhattan under the direction of Michael Grasso III where he finished a fellowship in minimally invasive/ laparoscopic techniques to treat urological conditions.

Dr. Portela specializes in the treatment of kidney and prostate cancer offering advanced techniques including robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery.  He also offers innovative treatment strategies for complicated kidney stones, laser treatment of the prostate and minimally invasive options to treat urinary incontinence.  He is a member of the American Urological Association the Florida Urological Association and a member of the American Board of Urology.

Dr. Georgis Patsias, M.D.

Dr. Georgis PatsiasDr. Georgis Patsias is a Board Certified Urologist.  He received his M.D. degree from Cayetano Heredia University in 1982. Dr. Patsias served as a Surgical and Urology Resident at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital. and in 1992 he finished his urological training as Chief Resident.

Once he completed his residency, Dr. Patsias went to New York where he obtained a fellowship in Male Infertility and Impotence at the New York University.

Since 1993, he has been in private practice in the Palm Beach County, Florida. He has authored national and international abstracts and has lectured, both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Patsias is certified by the American Board of Urology. He also holds current membership with the American Medical Association, the American Urological Association, American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, The Society for the Study of Male Reproduction, Society of Reproductive Surgeons, Florida Medical Association, and Palm Beach County Medical Society.

Dr. Patsias specializes in microscopic vas reversal, non-scalpel vasectomy and penile implants.

Dr. Sean L. Sawh

Dr. Sean L. Sawh is a Urologist specializing in general urology, urologic oncology, endourology and stone disease.  Dr. Sawh is originally from Trinidad and Tobago and, as the eldest son of the Caribbean's preeminent urologist, it was very natural for him to follow in his father's footsteps. Dr. Sawh graduated from University College Dublin where he received his Bachelor of Medicine (MB), Bachelor of Surgery (BCh) and Bachelor in the Art of Obstetrics (BAO) degrees. He completed his medical education and general surgery training at the prestigious Harvard Medical School. He underwent sub-specialist training in minimally invasive and robotic surgery at Henry Ford Hospital then completed residency in urologic surgery at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.

Dr. Sawh also received extensive training in male sexual dysfunction and prosthetics and is very passionate about Men's Health.

Dr. Sawh will be seeing patients at our Jupiter, Wellington and Palm Springs offices.
